Junes Recap

So this post is mostly a photo dump of what I have been up to lately, I just haven't been focuses on gettting stuff up here, maybe I need to do another 100 Days Happy and then I will definitely get my posts up! We will see about that. I think that is the second post of June, better late than never! So lets recap my June!

So Dixon and I did some DIY in the house, our spare room was slowly just filling with clutter and he really wants it to start to look nice, I am not too fussed by having our spare room look good just yet, I mean we don't have any planned house guests as of yet... Anyway it was still really nice to accomplish something, though it was gorgeous outside and I really would have rather been working outside than in. But you can't have everything!

Caryn's friend came over with her friend, so I got to show them around a little bit, and we went to Mary Kings Close, and she also brought with her a fantastic Care Package from my lovely sisters. Which included Tim Horton's cappuccino mix, which I am having right now, Lego, an excellent original drawing by my niece and a picture of the mentioned niece, as well as a hand egg beater! The beater would make sense if you knew the back story. Anyway we had an excellent day out, though I probably talked to much, I always forget what I know about places if you were to ask me, but seeing them and walking down the streets it all comes back. So hopefully I didn't talk their ears off.

An thus ended the Lego drought of 2014, well actually Dixon, the best husband ever, also surprised me with some Lego, I came home from work one day and there at the top of the stairs was ECTO 1 the new Ghostbusters Lego set, and let me say I was ecstatic!

Summer is really here, and it seems to be staying, fingers crossed! Which means lunch in Princes Gardens, bees on flowers and relocation of large eight legged visitors from the house, he was huge!!!

And as well as being productive in the house I have been a bit productive with my drawing and painting, here is a new one from the semi sort of series of landscape style drawings I have been doing, and I started painting the first one. I like it in the Black and Grey, but I think that I will probably still paint it in colour. Still deciding.

And so that has been my June, its been pretty excellent so far, all the ups and downs you would expect from me, though I have mostly just highlighted the ups here, to recap the downs, the DIY went well except for one bit fell off, but thats totally fixable, so we will hopefully get on that soon, I applied for a new job, but unfortuantely it was given to someone else after an extremely successful trial, but I think that I'll be ok and hopefully I will find another opportunity, I think thats all of the downs, so lets end on an exciting up! Tunnoks Tea Cakes are vegetarian! I had my first one this week haha!

Advent Calendar

Christmas is coming and we are getting in the spirit! Town is getting busier, the days are getting shorter and I still do not have my Christmas tree up, I am hoping we can get up into our attic to get it down this week, cause I really want to put it up! Dixon says its too early, but I still want to!! So to tide me over until we do get our tree up I got myself an Advent Calendar and made on for Dixon! Lego and Beers!

Dixon has even opened the windows, and not all at once like I know some people do with their advent calendars, total self control!

So its been a busy week for parcels coming as well, not just through the door but picking them up and paying customs charges, hopefully everything will make it here on time. One package that I got came from Camille and Caryn, with a post card from Lea! It was full of amazing things, including a Batsign and a National Geographic, I really should get a subscription!

And we also got our couches! Finally! They were supposed to be at the house late Friday evening, but because of the horrible weather on Thursday, winds in excess of 80 mph, the truck was stuck in Glasgow, but they eventually made it and it is awesome to have something to sit on!

So its a lot of this and that, but hopefully soon I will have my Christmas tree up and more adventures to share with you!

House Update

So I was trying to show someone the other day some of the things Daniel had built for the house, and I realized I didn't have any pictures of them, and of course that means that I haven't updated anything on here for the house in quite some time. The house is coming along great, I can't wait until we have sofas, but thats a whole other story but, sitting on the wee chairs we do have isn't all that terrible. It could be much worse.

So in the alcove in the livingroom, he built a this up into it. There used to be a fireplace in the wall next to it and that's where the pipes and stuff ran into, since we didn't have the money to replace the old fireplace and it was deemed unsafe, we decided to wall it up and perhaps at a later date we can get a fireplace again.

An in the bedroom we had a small closet, but considering the amount of clothes and shoes we both have, it would have been relatively useless as a closet. So Dixon built up a vaniety into the space and it works really well, when we had the electricians in, we had them put a light in there so its basically perfect. I am still looking for the right mirror. I saw one in a coffee shop, but they didn't seem like they were going to part with it. Something like this or this. I will have to keep my eyes peeled.

So that is most of the improvements, I have already shown you my camera shelves so other than that I can't think of too much new stuff for the house.

In the parcel Camille and Caryn sent me, Caryn also included this wee guy! Ever since I found the cubedudes online, I wanted to make the Boba Fett one. Now I might have to visit my pal and get some of the lego I gave her family and build Batman

So that about wraps up what I have been up to lately, since it has been so cold lately and it is October and my application is in the post I thought I would treat myself with some Lush. A Pumpkin bubble bar, it doesn't get much better than that.

Packages

Its been an exciting couple of days for parcels! I got one yesterday and I was supposed to get one two days ago too but we weren't in, so in fact I got one today! Both of them are really exciting! From Camille and Caryn, Daniel and I got a bit of kitchen stuff, a timer, set of tea towel, and an apron. We have already used the timer, he works perfectly! And then loads of sweets we can't get here which even though Daniel doesn't have a sweet tooth, properly munch a bunch of the coffee crisp bites. I will have to try to eat all of this in moderation, though my Halloween spirit does usually have me eating coffee crisps for breakfast!

And from Sarah, Coffin Crisps! How cool are they. Also another brilliant postcard from Sarah, she always finds the most weird and interesting ones.

So needless to say, it has been a pretty excellent day off.

Part of my day was spent watching Hocus Pocus an October must, and so while watching it I sketched up the Sanderson Sisters, it was a lot of fun and not too serious just good fun drawing them, might be nice to one day do a proper proper drawing. But I managed to draw all three of them within the movie! Maybe not quite as much detail on Mary though. Unfortunately this picture doesn't show her hair, perhaps I will work on the sketch a bit more and show ya the whole think.

Christmas.... AGAIN!!!!???

So I have been waiting ages to get Caryn's package she sent me, and then when it came only about a week later the one my mom sent me came!! I didn't think i would be arriving yet at all!!! So yesterday was very exciting when it came as well! Getting mail is the best thing ever! So opened it all basically as soon as I could!
I will sort of explain what everything is... Starting at the top left there is a white crocheted blankey, and a black ang grey zebra print scarf, moving along there is a Star Wars Lego Advent Calander! and just to its right the Lego Creator Light House!, below nad to its left is the dvd of Camille's wedding (yay), and then his and hers watches from my mom, as well as homemade cookies(yum!) then a collection of movies from both Caryn and my mom, then some make up ( I can't believe she remembered what kind of mascara I use, thats pretty awesome), and then a selection of souviners from Barbados, including, Pina Colada Rum Truffles, and KeyRings!
I know right I am spoiled!!!
Caryn got me an advent calander, though it was supposed to arrive

Gail and I watched this basically as soon as I opened the box, it was truely a beautiful wedding and I wish I were there more than ever, again saying congratulations to the married couple!!

Caryn got me an advent calander, though it was supposed to arrive at the beginning of December it mostly didn't arrive til the end of December! So I am deciding whether I should start opening it in February or wait until next Christmas. Gah!! Decisions decisions!

Thats all for now!! Merry Christmas again!!!

The Zooo With Camille and Caryn

So I ahve so many pictures of the zoo with Camille and Caryn that I probably have more from then, then the rest of the trip here! but it was so muc  fun so I will do the whole trip on the next one. So this is me and my sisters on our way in the zoo! Its really us as some different parts of it but I thought it would be a good place to start.
Now I have been to the zoo about three or four times but this is the very first time I got to see the sea lions out of the water, normally the only photo I get of them is their nostrils just sticking out of the water but...
that day they were being fed and doing some little tricks! So that was awesome to see, we did miss the safari truck up the hill so we just decided to walk up the hill from there.
Along the way we saw these birdies,

And after that I was very very excited to see the new sun bears that had replaced the polar bear Mercedes who was moved further north so she could have a much larger sized area for herself, but since sun bears are the smallest bears in the world it looked a lot larger of an area for them
They also have the largest tounges of bears because they use it look for honey and all sorts....
The big cats were amazing as usual, most were hiding from a good photo but the leopard was havin a nice stroll right infront of us
and after many attempts at getting a good photo of him I succeded! He was very very cool.
the tigers were both taking a nap so we didn't bother him too much. And we wnt on all over the hills and saw the zebras Which are very close to my favorite animals, but were too far away for me to get a good picture of them perhaps next time.
The rhino was also uncooperative even though he was walking around so much but I managed to crop a pretty cool photo of him also going over to see the pygmy hippo which was Caryn's  favorite in Austrailia, so we were happy to see them go for a stroll, earlier they were jsut sunning themselves under their heat lamps.
And soo it was time for the penguin parade, so everyday at around 2:15 the zookeepers open the penguin arean and let a bunch of the penguins out for a stroll if they want to. That day the Gentu penguins decided to go for a stroll...
They also have an awesome under water view of the penguins, and I am pretty sure Camille, Caryn, and I were more excited than all the little kids there put together.

That was a lot of what we had seen not all of it but this could be a mile long if I were to put every picture we took, but as you can see good fun C:
