February Recap

February was also pretty darn busy, I got to do the pizza ghost and Totoro ghosts from my flash sheet from January and I got to do a couple out of my available drawings book as well, which I was really looking forward to doing, as well as a few walk ins. Its amazing the power that Facebook has to connect you to people. Nearly everyone of these was because of a post on Facebook, which makes me feel very humble that someone would see something I have made and reach out and collaborate and get something from me. Its a very cool feeling indeed.

Joe also trusted me to start blacking out his shoulder, which looks pretty alarming in the photo as we thought it looked pretty metal in the photo with all of the blood. I haven't got a before picture, but he had a very scarred owl underneath all of that black that he just didn't want to see anymore and simply didn't want lasered, so I covered it up, by now we have done a bit more on it and finished it off, just a touch up session to go. So possibly more on that soon.

The Scottish Tattoo Convention is coming up next week so hopefully I will have one more post in the mean time, but if I don't hopefully I will have some good stories to tell from that!

If you do feel so inclined my Facebook page is here, usually far more thoroughly updated than here but hopefully going forward that will change.

January Recap

Well 2016 is blazing by isn't it? This whole past year has been a bit of a whirlwind, I don't know if it has been the 52 weeks of 6-7 day weeks but I am now really starting to get into my stride with this tattooing business. Starting this month, March, is it already March, I will be taking a few more days off from the part time job and getting a day or two more a month in the studio or just for drawing time. Which might mean more consistency here. So I'm excited about that, and I got to do some amazingly fun tattoos in January and up to this point.

But we will make the rest of this post about January.

A great friend of mine came over and I got to tattoo her, how crazy is that, I have no idea when we will see each other again, she just moved to Australia as well so it made it all doubly special. And I got to do my first proper over up from Claire who decided to trust me with that, it was a lot of fun. Not to mention a whole bunch of friends who got tatted this month, the ghost, skull, raven, BB8, and Baba Yaga's house are all on friends, and I can't thank them all enough for trusting me to put something on them forever.

Lots of exciting things happening this month so I will get into that more in the coming posts.

Tattooing Update

I have been a wee bit of a busy bee, or possibly slow to update, we will call it a mix of both. But I have been doing some tattoos recently so my apprenticeship moves ever forward. Thanks to some of my lovely friends I have been able to make good progress in the past couple weeks and I am now up to my 10th tattoo, so thank you everyone who has helped me so far! I really appreciate it.

Drawing Time

Its been a busy drawing week for me, had a lot of requests from people, so that has kept me busy, I think every single drawing in this post has an owner, or hopefully owner. So that has been a lot of fun! Its been a busy couple of weeks, with summer coming the Dungeons has been super busy, and the studio has been well booked up. So busy bees all around. Whch makes me doubley happy I have been able to draw so many things.

So lots of fun for me, the progression of size in Alana's goldfish was fun, I only needed to draw the body once, and then the tail kept growing and growing, but it came out really cool, and I'm glad we kept extending the tail, it really suits the piece.

Big huge thanks to the comic Bitch Planet, Kelly Sue DeConnick and Kate Leth for the inspiration for this last piece, I am so excited that Beth asked for this and can't wait to do get tattooing this piece!

Work In Progress

Back to work on the fun stuff again, so these are my 3rd and 4th tattoos, Joe at first wanted me to do his elbow, which was super scary, but Kris said no, as the skin is odd and I wouldn't be ready for it, not to mention, Joe has some extensive elbow skin, so we settled for the ankle-y calf region, which suits me just fine. And Dixon wanted his Critikill he had done some time ago covered with my smashing blouse painting. So they both need finishing, but it has been a lot of fun so far.
