Cramond Island

Every Year around the second or third weekend of August, this years being the 18th, a concert is organised on the disused bomb shelters of Cramond Island. And though Cramond is an island when the tide goes out, you can walk over. So you get up bright and early and head out to the Firth of the Forth and make the long walk over to the other side up the hill and down again to the bunker, it makes for a pretty different kind of gig. We were very prepared this year and had a BBQ and everything so loads of drink, loads of food and loads of music! Brilliant

Crossing to Cramond

Rollercoasters!

I have realised I am way behind on my blogging, this happened while we were still in Blackpool! I did only get some of these photos back from my holga the other day so that is mostly my excuse, its not a good one but its still an excuse.
After we were all exhausted from a tiring weekend of seeing bands drinking and making fools of ourselves we decided the best move forward would be to go to the rollercoaster park and make even bigger fools of ourselves because as you know nothing cures a hangover like a giant roller coaster!
I have to say the brilliant weather really helped cause it was a really really good time.

Here's Dixon with his BatBananaman he won! Pretty soon after he got bored and gave it away to some kids who were pretty excited to get it!

Everyone decided since it was super warm to go on the Valhalla ride, its tagline, you will get wet, everyone though, 'oh its brilliant outside, we will dry off in no time'. I went on the first go round but decided it really wasn't that great so I watched the bags for the second go round and they all came out looking a bit like this, if you can imagine they were all soaked! Did the sun dry them you may ask? No it conveniently hid behind a cloud once it was needed. So needless to say I was a bit happy I didn't get soaked on the second roud haha!

Best Part of the Day

One of the most exciting things as well, we met Stza from Leftover Crack and Star Fucking Hipsters, and I was super excited but my friend was giggling like a school girl and bouncing up and down to meet him, so she got a picture with him, and after that I just felt silly asking so I kinda stole her photo, I still kinda wish I would have asked but can't do anything now. On the bright side he was super nice, so if you are planning on trying to meet Stza, try a roller coaster park. Hes super happy there.

Those Are Shite

The Shite Shirt extravaganza down in Blackpool, it had to be captured on film. Look close and you will see Shite Shorts as well!

If you haven't seen these masterpieces go and check them out.

Black and White

I got a bunch of film back from the printers earlier this week and I am really excited about some of the pictures, plus some of them are a few months old now so its nice to see them again, but I really should start printing my film more promptly cause the events are more fresh in my mind.

Instagram

So last week I lost my phone but this week I got my shiney new iPhone, which has been fairly addictive to say the least so with my shiny new toy to play with I have photos to share!

The National Gallery is soon having an exhibit that will largely feature Van Gogh so they have this massive mural up, as well as a thistle, its Scotland I had to.

With Edinburgh being so lovely this is what everyone does find a bit of green and they make sure they enjoy it, and speaking of sun Mama Gail got me some Sunflowers cause they came over for dinner last night! And they are awesome!

And finally I got some more film for my cameras, this doesn't mean that I have developed my finished film but I am hoping to take my Holga down to Blackpool for the Rebellion festival and get a bunch of pictures then hopefully september I will have money to develope!!

Holga 2; Edinburgh Zoo

I think I am getting the hang of this! Caryn was just here  so that meant that I get to go to the zoo! Which also meant great opportunity to take some more photos with my Holga and see if I can't figure it out some more! Unfortunately I had a slight disaster and the back fell off my camera and I think I lost most of my panda pictures. So now I keep a pony tail around the camera and that has seemed to keep it in place for now until I can find some gaffa tape. But I still got one great one and one pretty cool double exposure if not a little dark, I should probably invest in photoshop and then I could fix these things but thats a project for a later day I think.
So when I realised that the back was off I just finished up the roll so I could start a new one so there are quite a few pictures of the sunbears, I almost think that the back falling off made the pictures a bit brighter. Probably No but some came out awesome!

The Sun Bears just got fed so they were out and about getting their food!

The black but in the centre is a Sun Bear I swear!

I was really impressed with the Panda exhibit, when they said that you would be going in with groups of 50 I really thought that it would be horrible to try to get a good photo or even a opportunity to see them but they did a great job!

Tian Tian

Yang Guang

The King penguins were awasy so there was no penguin parade, but the gentoos were nesting so watching them steal eachothers pebbles for nests was pretty funny, definately worth the trade off for the penguin parade.

And after all of that walking I felt about the same a the Sea Lion.

I really wanted to get this film developed so I ran on my lunch break taking photos along the way to finish off the roll and I got surprisingly good photos!

I have another film in the works, a black and white one this time! I am super excited to take more photos with this one, so far I took some at the National Gallery of Modern Art, we were there for the Edvard Munch exhibit of Lithographs but more on that soon!

Holga

So very recently I got my first analogue camera that I know (mostly) how to use, I do have the Ensign Ranger II but I don't really know how confident I am with actually trying it out! So I decided to start small and work my way up to big! Introducing the Holga 120CFN..

Now I am chalking this up to inexperience cause I messed up quite a few of these photos! But it was my first film and I wanted to try a whole bunch of things on it!
So here are a couple of picture I really liked.

Double Exposure of Castle and Cherry Tree.

St Giles.

I have two more rolls at the printers and this time I am getting it on CD as well so hopefully no more pictures of pictures.
So hopefully more from me soon cause Caryn is visiting so I am sure I will have lots to post about!
