Galashiels and Painting

So my friend Kaya has a shop in Galashiels called 119 Tattoo, and since we used to work together every now and then I come over so we can draw and have a chat, its nice for me cause I draw a lot more if she is tatttoing loads and if she isn't tattooin too much, she helps me with my drawings. Which I think is a pretty good deal!
I have a pretty crap time drawing hands sometimes so it was nice to have kaya helping me because she showed me a whole new way to look at it, and I think I am getting better!
Kaya did help me with a few but I think they all look much more graceful and feminine than all the other hands I have ever drawn combined.

I also painted a post card for my friend in Canada's birthday I drew it and painted it all in one wee night I was very proud of myself. I hope she likes it I am sure it is safe on here so she doesn't see it before she gets it, I don't think she has seen this blog just yet C:

Its a Deer!

So since Dixon has been working nights lately I have been sitting curled up by my computer watching all kinds of interesting programs from David Attenborough, to The Life of Edgar Allen Poe. Plus all the rubbish telly inbetween that I can drum up to help the time go by, but low and behold I got productive yesterday and did a painting!
Now this is the first time that I have painted all of my lines so its a bit messy and I kinda screwed up my background, cause I kept stickin my hand in the red lines and then setting it on the page so I had to do something. I think I am going to make the red background a bit stronger and that should balance it out, hopefully. They are a bit darker than in the photo, but it is a photo so you can only ask for so much.
Its always nice when a bit of overtiredness turns into productivity. I also should have a tattoo update, but I didn't take a photo of it and now is a biiiit peely so perhaps next time.

The Zooo With Camille and Caryn

So I ahve so many pictures of the zoo with Camille and Caryn that I probably have more from then, then the rest of the trip here! but it was so muc  fun so I will do the whole trip on the next one. So this is me and my sisters on our way in the zoo! Its really us as some different parts of it but I thought it would be a good place to start.
Now I have been to the zoo about three or four times but this is the very first time I got to see the sea lions out of the water, normally the only photo I get of them is their nostrils just sticking out of the water but...
that day they were being fed and doing some little tricks! So that was awesome to see, we did miss the safari truck up the hill so we just decided to walk up the hill from there.
Along the way we saw these birdies,

And after that I was very very excited to see the new sun bears that had replaced the polar bear Mercedes who was moved further north so she could have a much larger sized area for herself, but since sun bears are the smallest bears in the world it looked a lot larger of an area for them
They also have the largest tounges of bears because they use it look for honey and all sorts....
The big cats were amazing as usual, most were hiding from a good photo but the leopard was havin a nice stroll right infront of us
and after many attempts at getting a good photo of him I succeded! He was very very cool.
the tigers were both taking a nap so we didn't bother him too much. And we wnt on all over the hills and saw the zebras Which are very close to my favorite animals, but were too far away for me to get a good picture of them perhaps next time.
The rhino was also uncooperative even though he was walking around so much but I managed to crop a pretty cool photo of him also going over to see the pygmy hippo which was Caryn's  favorite in Austrailia, so we were happy to see them go for a stroll, earlier they were jsut sunning themselves under their heat lamps.
And soo it was time for the penguin parade, so everyday at around 2:15 the zookeepers open the penguin arean and let a bunch of the penguins out for a stroll if they want to. That day the Gentu penguins decided to go for a stroll...
They also have an awesome under water view of the penguins, and I am pretty sure Camille, Caryn, and I were more excited than all the little kids there put together.

That was a lot of what we had seen not all of it but this could be a mile long if I were to put every picture we took, but as you can see good fun C:

A Whole Months Gone By...

How does that happen a whole month just flies by, but it has been a very exciting month. I started trying new recipes this month, which was very exciting, I made a veggie lasagna. I really really enjoyed it, Dixon said it was too beany for him, so I might have to try different beans next time. They were a bit dry. But other than that it was an awesome lasagna, look;
Delicous no? And excellent the second day when I had it for lunch.
We also had people over for the first time, normally we go over to other people's houses so this was really nice! And I even got photos to prove it.
It was loads of fun just watching telly, playing video games, and we had Haq's for tea, and they are pretty much t he best indian takeaway you can get, it was awesome.
Me and Dixon also like to go for walks and we went twice in two days because it was a really nice the day after I took my camera and bought a roll so I could go and feed some duckies! The day before we did see a Canadian goose which made me feel all at home and stuff cause I used to see them all the time, but of course the day I have my camera he wasn't there again, but I did sing Oh Canada to him, to make him feel at home as well.
The seagulls really really wanted some of my roll, but I was trying my best to feed the duckies cause I like the better, although I think they still got their fair share, look at them queing up!
Then it was our turn for lunch, I had an awesome veggie chilli by innocenti veg bowls, it was awesome cold, I imagine that it would be even better warm.
I also finally got a photo of the old mill, I have been down here a few times and every time I didn't have my camera!
We also saw a stork, or a heron or something like that but he flew away before I could get a photo, although the day before when I didn't ahve my camera with me he stood picture perfect for us and I couldn't get any photos which made it that much worse when he flew away just before I could get a nice photo, hopefully then next time we go for a walk he will be there again, but it is getting close to winter so I don't really think so. But there were ponies!

And to finish off the day a rainbow C:
I also have a million pictures of when my sisters, Camille and Caryn came to visit me, but I think I have done a lot of uploading right now and will get to it later plus I have to go through them to see whats all good, since I have all of our photos.
