Halloween is Fast Approaching

The end of October is fast approaching and I have made a certain amount of progress with Drawlloween, hopefully today I will blaze through a whole bunch more again after I am done all of my cleaning that needs doing. But I have made it 18 which isn't bad. I can deal with having done that many, so if I can continue and do more I will be so excited.  Not to mention a few non drawlloweens in there as well. So the ones after the gravestone are client drawings so you should be seeing those as tattoos soon.

So it has been a really good month for drawing and tattooing as I have a couple of those to share soon and a few lined up to do.

I've also finally set up my own Facebook page for my drawing and tattoos so head over there for more up to date updates.

Drawlloween So Far

Drawlloween is coming along nicely this year, I have so far finished off 8 drawings for it and for some of the subjects *cough* bats *cough* I definitely had a lot of fun drawing so I went a bit overboard, but they are so far some of my favourites that I have done. Any and all of these I would love to tattoo as well so hopefully we get a few tattoos going with these as well. It has bee a lot of fun so far, so I will hopefully keep the ball rolling and get a few more done today.

I've added the list at the bottom if anyone else wants to join in the fun, I am going to try to go through the list in order now so that I don't end up at the end with loads of ones I don't want to draw. Should be fun!

Inktober

Got a few more drawing requests finished up today, one more nearly done but the final linework is still coming, both of these still are yet to be coloured but it will be a lot of fun, the brussel sprout is for Dixon so I think I will be able to drag him back into the studio soon for more tattoo times and hopefully I get to do the praying mantis soon!
Also its the first couple days of Drawlloween/Inktober, so hopefully I stick to this, but here are my first two efforts for it they were a lot of fun.

More Tattoo Time

Whoop, I had a busy week last week, I felt like I was tattooing left right and centre! Though I guess it was mostly legs, but it was such a fun week, With Kris on holiday and Dominika and Joe unwell, Saturday I had the whole shop to myself which was fun and unnerving at times, depending when and what type of customers came in. But when Kat came in for her ship we just locked the doors as that was definitely going to be way easier than worrying about anyone coming in. The day before I Did Steven's Ghostbusters tattoo and finally finished off Dixon's smashing blouse we started ages ago! But we've now started another one so hopefully I can get him in next week to finish the pig off as well.

A couple weeks ago now as well Ross who got the pterodactyl (pteranadon) came in to get an old star filled in so I took the opportunity to snap a wee mostly healed photo of it from him as well.

David Bailey

Gail and I went to the David Bailey exhibition at the National Gallery the week before last, and it was brilliant, it was amazing the people he met and knew. And of course the photos were stunning, I had a lovely day with Gal looking at everything, I always enjoy a good exhibition. It was unbelievable to me that he knew and was personally invited to things by the Krays, and was friends with Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. I surreptitiously took a few photos of some of my favourites.

Edinburgh Fringe 2015

This festival season seemed to fly by, of course August is busy for Dixon and I normally with our anniversary, Island of Punk, and the Rebellion Festival, this year though I only did 1 out of those three and it still flew by so I only managed to see three things this year at the festival.

The festival opened this year with the Harmonium Project, which was accompanied by coral singing, it was extremely busy and if you could get a second where you weren't being pushed and could take a moment to enjoy it it was gorgeous. A few of us from the studio went out to it together.

Secondly Hayley Gail and I went to see Nick Helm's Can Somebody For the Love of God Please Make All of This Pain and Misery Go Away (Work In Progress), which was great, Nick Helm is always funny, we saw him last year as well. But this show was a lot more understated than the year before. A lot less explosions and sparkle suits but still just as fun. We even managed a wee photo with him before the show, so we all three got a photo with him. He was really nice about it.

And to close out the festival I just managed to see Trainspotting live with Beth, which was as funny as it was intense, I managed to grab a few photos of the rave that opened the show, I don't know how they managed to act after going that mental for that long, and a wee photo of the sets grafitti. It was so well done, Im glad we managed to make it to it.

And so that was my fesitval this year, hopefully next year I will have gotten to some more shows and be working slightly less hours.
