Cramond 2013

Its that time of year again and the Island of Punk is upon us, I didn't take as many photos with the Holga this year as I did last year, but more with my iPhone so at least I have some It wasn't as nice and clear and warm this time as the last few years, but it was dry and that made it brilliant. We also were not as prepared this year as last, but I blame Mhairi and Darren, cause they didn't come this year so we didn't put the effort in with the BBQ and everything. Still though I got pretty steamin and had a wee nap and in general had a brilliant time! So can't really complain. The Island of Punk is always a good time.

Dixon also played in the Fuk Redding festival down in London the Day after Cramond so I got some painting done, nothing I can show the whole thing of though I am probably giving away too much already but I am pretty excited that I did some painting at all! So what the heck! Just one more painting to go for Counting at the Zoo and then I can send the last batch off!

August, Thus Far

So its been a rather exciting week, first of all Blackpool and the rebellion festival, second, moved into our new place, third it was mine and Dixon's anniversary on the 16th and we also got very exciting parcels! Now normally I would split this up into a couple of different posts, but knowing me you would never hear about any of it so its going to be a monster of a post today!
Blackpool was really good again, its just really nice to get away and only  think about what band you want to see next, should I have another pint, ah go on, I'll have another pint! And we ended up seeing basically every band that we set out to see. So that was really good! Unfortunately I got really sick on the Saturday, we went for a Chinese and just after I finished eating I really needed to be sick so I walked extremely quickly back to the B&B and made it up to the room and then threw up for then next couple hours! Luckily there were no bands me or Dixon wanted to see so he stayed with me and we watched crap telly til we fell asleep. Cause Sunday was the best day, it was basically band after band after band that was great! We got to see The Stitches and they were awesome, bought all the merch! and when we came back for the Adolescents (yay!) we met the guitarist and singer! One of Dixon's favourite bands so it was really fun!
We didn't see too much of Blackpool, just a bit of the promenade but it was really windy so we just bought some rock and went back.

We got back on the Monday and had a bit of a lazy day and we both took the Tuesday off so I finished sanding and staining the chest of drawers for the bedroom and that night we moved in! So it was all very exciting until about nine at night when after a weekend of feeling a bit dodgy turned into a 9 hour puking marathon, so I got no sleep our first night in but on the bright side if we hadn't moved in yet I would have had to run up and down stairs all night to make it to the toilet on time so whooo hoo new house! So I had to stay home from work on my first day back from holidays, but at least I caught up on my sleep and slept all day, Dixon however started to feel ill on the Thursday night just when I was starting to recover. So he stayed home from work Friday, our anniversary!
So it was a romantic first week in our new home but we are still pretty excited to be in the house!

And the exciting parcels, well I got the one I was waiting for from my Grandma, she sent us an amazing afghan blanket she made, it has a tartan pattern, and I can't believe how awesome it is, a scarf for me and a wooden box for Dixon, and some sweets I have missed and the peppermints were a godsend for my upset stomach this week! Made me miss them loads, now I just need to get my hands on some Wilhemina Peppermints! An the other parcel was from Sarah, who is amazing as well, she stood in line for hours 7 if I am correct, to get a signed copy of Neil Gaiman's new book The Ocean at the End of The Lane and a surprise signing of The Sandman; Preludes and Nocturns! So excited!!!

If you've made it this far, congratulations! It has been a brilliant week for me even with all the sickness! Hopefully more regular updates, August is usually a pretty hectic month for me so ttfn!

Just Quick

Its that time of year again, me and Dixon are heading down to Blackpool tomorrow for Rebellion Festival. Hopefully all of the bands I want to see turn up and we see all of them this time. Either way it is always a laugh!
Perhaps I will remember to take more pictures this time and have more to share than some drunken tales.

The house is definitely live-in-able now, so once we are back we should be in! I hope we will see. There seems to always be something lurking on the horizon pushing the move in day further and further back.

So just a quick on today and some random pictures too.

Our new pal the fly trap!

Inverleith Park

So I am not always working on my flat, sometimes I do other stuff too. Its been a long process getting the place sorted so it is nice to have a bit of time with friends and enjoy myself.
Mhairi and I got to hang out when she came through from Troon and we went for a walk round Inverleith Park, she also took me to DFS to look at sofas, unfortunately didn't find anything that I liked through there, stuff I didn't mind, but nothing I wanted to be paying for,f or 4 years. But I haven't walked through Inverleith Park before so it was really nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air and walk with her doggy!

The house is coming along really well, we are so close to moving in, it is really exciting. Almost everything is done, we need something to sit on in the living room, but the bedroom, we just need to put up the curtains today, and the shower screen in the bathroom, and we will basically be set. Still more to do obviously, but we should be able to live there. I kinda think that we could have last week but that's just me so I will leave it at that.

Anyway enough about the house, here's some photos of the swan/duck pond in Inverleith Park.
