Gail and I went to the David Bailey exhibition at the National Gallery the week before last, and it was brilliant, it was amazing the people he met and knew. And of course the photos were stunning, I had a lovely day with Gal looking at everything, I always enjoy a good exhibition. It was unbelievable to me that he knew and was personally invited to things by the Krays, and was friends with Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. I surreptitiously took a few photos of some of my favourites.

Edinburgh Fringe 2015
This festival season seemed to fly by, of course August is busy for Dixon and I normally with our anniversary, Island of Punk, and the Rebellion Festival, this year though I only did 1 out of those three and it still flew by so I only managed to see three things this year at the festival.
The festival opened this year with the Harmonium Project, which was accompanied by coral singing, it was extremely busy and if you could get a second where you weren't being pushed and could take a moment to enjoy it it was gorgeous. A few of us from the studio went out to it together.
Secondly Hayley Gail and I went to see Nick Helm's Can Somebody For the Love of God Please Make All of This Pain and Misery Go Away (Work In Progress), which was great, Nick Helm is always funny, we saw him last year as well. But this show was a lot more understated than the year before. A lot less explosions and sparkle suits but still just as fun. We even managed a wee photo with him before the show, so we all three got a photo with him. He was really nice about it.
And to close out the festival I just managed to see Trainspotting live with Beth, which was as funny as it was intense, I managed to grab a few photos of the rave that opened the show, I don't know how they managed to act after going that mental for that long, and a wee photo of the sets grafitti. It was so well done, Im glad we managed to make it to it.
And so that was my fesitval this year, hopefully next year I will have gotten to some more shows and be working slightly less hours.

More Work
So Last week I was moving along nicely, I did three tattoos that week. So a big thanks again to Beth, Ross and Stu, without willing friends and friends of friends none of this would be possible. All three of these were great fun, the most challenging I think was Beth's Non Compliant but I am really happy with how it has come out. I had a lot of fun with all three of these.

Tattooing Update
I have been a wee bit of a busy bee, or possibly slow to update, we will call it a mix of both. But I have been doing some tattoos recently so my apprenticeship moves ever forward. Thanks to some of my lovely friends I have been able to make good progress in the past couple weeks and I am now up to my 10th tattoo, so thank you everyone who has helped me so far! I really appreciate it.

Sea Life
On our way home we decided to head out to the Sea Life Sanctuary after all, it was kind of on our way and so after picking up a couple souvenirs for the Dicksons back home, we headed out. It was a really nice stop in front of Loch Creran and all the different aquariums were really interesting, Dixon and I even got a fright from the eel, even though he was just sitting there.
So it was a nice way to finish off our trip out to Oban, we used my phone for the satnav on the way back so I didn't get any pictures of us going home bar one.

The Folly
And so we decided to drive up to the tower, in retrospect everything in Oban seems further than it is and we probably could have walked but then my foot is still dodgy (more on that another time), I wish I took photos of the tiny roads, but I was in charge of navigation, and that was a full time job! But we made it up to the top of Battery Hill to see McCaig's Tower and the stucture itself was really cool though McCaig did have quite lofty intentions of a museum and gallery to be included, when he died the shell was all that had been built, thus leaving this impressive folly. Thought it was now starting to be the evening, the sun was still shining and lit up the bay beautifully so we could see all the was over the Isle of Mull and beyond.
And so to finish off the night I surprisingly found a vegan resartaunt in the seafood capital that is Oban, and Dixon agreed to go to it with me. So we had amazing Japanese food from Itadakizen, which was delicious!
