Gail and I went to the David Bailey exhibition at the National Gallery the week before last, and it was brilliant, it was amazing the people he met and knew. And of course the photos were stunning, I had a lovely day with Gal looking at everything, I always enjoy a good exhibition. It was unbelievable to me that he knew and was personally invited to things by the Krays, and was friends with Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. I surreptitiously took a few photos of some of my favourites.

Sitting Ducks at the Portrait Gallery
Hold on for a ton of pictures, Gail and I went to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, for John Byrne's new exhibition, Sitting Ducks. I have seen some of his work before in featured in What do Artists do all Day, the series and a bit in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Galsgow that Hayley and I went to in the Spring. Anyway, I really liked his stuff and wanted to check out more of it. So it was a lovely day yto be in the Galleries, its a bit grey and muggy out, so I had a brilliant day out with Gail, with some tea and scones after a bit of shopping. So I am pretty tuckered out now, what with my wee cold, so enjoy.
I haven't really been to the Portrait Gallery too much before and the main body of the building is gorgeous so be prepared as you scroll past a few of John Byrne's paintings to be drowned in a lot of those.
I really tried to get a good photo/video of this next bit, but it is only ok, its Mary Queen of Scots and a skull, depending on where you view it from.

Walking to Stockbridge
I need to pull up my socks with this blogging business, I have had these pictures ready since last weekend, when I went for a huge walk. I took my Pentax as well but I have yet to get it developed.
So this is from my house to St Bernard's Well in between Stockbridge and the Dean Bridge on the Water of Leith. There are so many small bits of Edinburgh hidden away that I haven't ever seen. I definitely need to go back to St Bernard's Well because they open it up to the public every Sunday in August, and it looks gorgeous inside.
I have been walking more and more consistently lately which has been good, it makes me feel way better if not a bit sleepy by the end of the day. But all in all I think that it is a really good thing that I am keeping it up especially on my days off. Anyway hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed my walk.
I have also bought some new art supplies so hopefully you will something from that soon!

St Margaret's Loch
I am officially addicted to my Pentax, this is the most film I have shot since getting into cameras, and you know what its awesome! So hopefully you don't mind post after post laden with photographs, cause hopefully that will be what is happening for a good while now. Although I probably need to wait until payday until I get anymore printed. So possibly a reprieve is coming up for you.
These photos are from a wee walk up Arthur's Seat and around Holyrood Park to the ruined abbey, St Anthony's Chapel and St Margaret's Loch, for a wee visit with the swans. It was a gorgeous day, one that makes you think that summer is here and here to stay. Unfortunately summer is still waiting but it was a brilliant day for a picnic and some photographs.
