Rosslyn Chapel

So I said yesterday that I had gotten my photos back last week, and now that I have a bit of time off again, I was able to get them scanned in and uploaded. I am really proud of some of the shots, it was a lot of fun shooting basically a whole roll in one go. I am really enjoying 35mm film, because you only have 24 -36 or so shots to take so you want to make them count, but its more than the 12-16 you get out of 120 film which gives you so much more to play with. Plus my Pentax K1000 is awesome. I am loving the quality I am getting when its all focused up right.

So about Rosslyn Chapel, you may have noticed sometimes I have said I went out to Roslin, and sometimes I say Rosslyn Chapel, which is a bit confusing, but Roslin is the town and Rosslyn Chapel is the chapel. Make sense right? I think the Scottish do these things just to confuse you.

We totally lucked out on a sunny day going out, and even though it was a bit cold, it was lovely clear crisp day. You aren't allowed to take photos inside the church so that is why you are getting loads of outdoor photos, but the outside is just as impressive as the inside so that was ok. I was going to do a bit of quality control, but I wanna take the fuzzy with the crisp, so you get to see every single shot! Enjoy.

We weren't allowed photos inside as I said, but I bought a postcard, so here is the main body of the chapel, its amazing.

On the weekend after Roslin, Daniel and I went to the Royal Botanic Gardens and I mostly took photos with my phone, but I had a couple shots left on my roll so I took a few of the Victorian greenhouse and the Koi inside.

I was saving my very last shot for the giant lilypads in the greenhouse, but unfortuantely the Scottish winter doesn't give them enough sun to keep them going through into February and March and they won't be back until May, but there is the Field of Light in St Andrews Square, and that was a pretty cool last shot.

100 Days Happ 57 - 63

I have to admit that this week I struggled a bit to find the happy, between working all seven days and really not liking who I was working with, and not really getting up to too much I feel a bit like I didn't have a very good week. I think my main problem was remembering the good things from this week, because I had a few cool things happen that I totally didn't remember to capture. And I found it really had to shake my bad mood even when I was at home. Luckily I had a really good weekend, even with working, Saturday was a nice evening in with Dixon and we watched movies and drank some beers, which can sometimes be all you need.
Plus looking back this week at the things I did in between work helped cheer me up too.

1. Postcards from Rosslyn Chapel posted
2. Shrove Tuesday, aka Pancake Day with eggs and veggie bacon
3. New Terry Pratchett for the collection
4. Highlight of Thursday, BEER
5. Progress is still progress, even if its slow
6. Movie night with Dixon
7. Photos from Rosslyn Chapel, more on those later!

I did have some good bits that are not up here, Dixon was away to a gig and I didn't feel well so I got a super glitter bath bomb and some peach cider, and that was magic. So I just need to remember to remember those.

3 Weeks Down

And we are back with 7 more happy days, its been a pretty great week this week! We had Burns Night, which I will hopefully talk more about in my next post, and I had got my pictures back from the printers. So even with January feeling like the longest month ever, I have had a lot of ups! So lets bring on the final week of January!

1. Getting my film back from the printers
2. Playing with negatives on my Lomo Scanner
3. The cutest Oilers fans ever
4. No cavities, painless dental checkup
5. Catching the early bus, 20 mins extra time at home
6. Burns Night Supper, yum!
7. Free Coffee, thanks O2!

That about sums up my week!

Halina Rolls Colour Film

I finally got around to getting my roll of film developed from ages and ages ago, almost a year ago, because one of the photos I took was in this exhibition, Massimo Bartolini. Unfortuantely it didn't turn out as well as I hoped. But some of the other pictures I love. There were a few light leaks, but if you know me I am rather fond of a light leak! I really need to get taking more shots with film! Anyway, without further ado.

January seems to be the month for posts for me so far, hopefully I didn't just jinx it haha.
