So Close

I am one for starting new things and abandoning them part way through, I get bored easily, which I have been trying to combat. Unfortunately, 100 Days Happy didn't make it, I tripped at the finish line. I was only 16 days away, now I could just post the ones I have from that time, but I had a day where I couldn't remember if I did anything that made me smile or made me happy and it kinda sucks, it was the Wednesday just after my last post. Dixon was away, I was supposed to be meeting Hayley to go to Glasgow but Dixon's birthday present was supposed to turn up at my house that day according to the guy who I ordered it from. So I stayed in, and waited and waited and waited. And it didn't come, so it really felt like a waste of a day. No excuses, just a shitty day that I did nothing with.
So what has the 100 Days Happy taught me, well I am still not seizing the day, but I am making more of an effort to make note of the things that do make me happy, so that is good. Most of the time all it takes is a bit of sunshine!
Next post I promise there will be pictures and I'll talk about the excellent stuff I got up to inbetween my last posts.

100 Days Happy 78-84

So this week has felt really long, maybe because its Wednesday and I should be posting these on Sunday, or in a pinch, Monday, or it might be because Dixon left on Friday to go on tour. So the weekend felt really, really, long. In my head he's been gone for ages already. So I have been a sad wee sop most of the week. But that is this week not last week. Last week was mostly really good.

1. Returning finished books
2. Sunshine on the Balmoral
3. Cant's Close, watch more chewing the fat to get this one
4. Brunch with Mackenzie at Ghillie Dhu
5. Hot water bottle, biscuits, and a cup of tea in bed
6. Spoiling myself with new books
7. My first ever Pad Thai, yum

So really only the last half of the week was sad but there were definite highlights, so hopefully Dixon is enjoying his tour.

100 Days Happ 57 - 63

I have to admit that this week I struggled a bit to find the happy, between working all seven days and really not liking who I was working with, and not really getting up to too much I feel a bit like I didn't have a very good week. I think my main problem was remembering the good things from this week, because I had a few cool things happen that I totally didn't remember to capture. And I found it really had to shake my bad mood even when I was at home. Luckily I had a really good weekend, even with working, Saturday was a nice evening in with Dixon and we watched movies and drank some beers, which can sometimes be all you need.
Plus looking back this week at the things I did in between work helped cheer me up too.

1. Postcards from Rosslyn Chapel posted
2. Shrove Tuesday, aka Pancake Day with eggs and veggie bacon
3. New Terry Pratchett for the collection
4. Highlight of Thursday, BEER
5. Progress is still progress, even if its slow
6. Movie night with Dixon
7. Photos from Rosslyn Chapel, more on those later!

I did have some good bits that are not up here, Dixon was away to a gig and I didn't feel well so I got a super glitter bath bomb and some peach cider, and that was magic. So I just need to remember to remember those.

100 Days Happy 50-56

So I had a weeks worth of holidays to use up and so use them up I did, so this weeks worth of happy has been especially good because its also been very relaxing. I didn't have too many plans but still got out and did stuff too. So its been a good week. And we are past the half way mark for 100 Days Happy, so that is also pretty cool. I can't help but wonder if it is helping me relax and feel happier and notice happy things, this week it would have been hard not to.

1. Started using my Valentines Threads for my cross stitch
2. Bath bombs!
3. The ever growing camera collection, they got some use this week.
4. First photos back from the Pentax
5. Roslin Chapel
6. Botanics greenhouses
7. Dr Sketchy's is back!

100 Happy Days 43-49

So I am a little bit late updating my 100 Days Happy this week, our internet totally died, so we have been trying to get it fixed al week. But yesterday someone came out and found how to fix it, and thus I am back!

I am also on holidays this week, but don't be expecting exotic locations or anything like that, I'm just using up my holiday days before they expire. Hopefully a holiday is on the horizon, as my residency came through and I'm all paid up with my lawyer. But we have lots to do in the house and not to mention the washing machine also decided to kick the bucket. But hopefully soon.

Anyway lets get going, week 7!

1. Home made Green Onion Cakes
2. T-Rex's can do stuff, with assistance
3. Flitch and Mrs Norris for Wizarding Wednesday
4. New Washing Machine
5. Watercolour by the Castle
6. New Camera EEEEE!!!!!
7. Walks with Dixon

I also got a parcel from Camille, Caryn and James, I need to get a photo of it cause my family kicks ass! I really need to remember to get photos...

100 Days Happy 36-42

So, here we are again, and I've got my photos for another week. I would say nothing so exciting as getting word that my permanent residency has come through happened this week, but I did receive my actual physical card. So that is exciting as well as our passports, the two years of bank statements from Daniel and I and other miscellaneous papers needed for my application! So yay that is exciting, it isn't one of my photos though, not sure it would be a good idea to take a photo of my new visa and put it all out there, but it did indeed happen and so Saturday's happy, is probably a close second.

Anyway without further ado.

1. Light Exhibit in St Andrews Square

2. Parcels from Canada

3. Cross Stitch progress

4. Big Hair, good hair day

5. Valentines Day, I rememebered!

6. New Tunes, hanging out with pals

100 Happy Days 29-35 and More

So at the beginning of this week I though that my next seven of the 100 Days Happy would be all about the new cross stitch I was starting, buuuut  I had amazing news on Friday. My application for permanent residency has been approved. So that shifted the whole week completely! Not that the new cross stitch isn't going well haha. But here they are, seven more days.

1. Mailing Birthday cards to Canada
2. New Cross stitch pattern, its gonna be huge!
3. Walking to get more thread, and the castle was being beautiful
4. Making Leak and Potato soup, YUM!
5. Celebratory Thai!
6. Lemsip for the cold
7. Sherlock and the Great Mouse Detective comparisons for the win!

To go into Friday a bit more, Dixon and I went for a meal, and to see the paper lantern terracotta warriors, that were on display too. I popped to see them in the daylight and at night, and it was more impressive to see at night but way harder to capture. But still really cool. And afterward we went to Chang Thai, for, you guessed it, Thai food! The food was so nice as the service was brilliant. I got a type of curry I had never had before, and Dixon had steak, and was feeling manly, and got it spicy, it was really spicy. But everything was so good even if it numbed Dixon's lip! So it was a brilliant day all around.

So this weeks Friday will be a Happy Day that will be hard to top!

We also had Champagne and Gingerbread with Gail and Gordon on Saturday, so that would have probably qualified for Saturdays happy, but I totally forgot to take a photo! I suck.
