Advent Calendar

Christmas is coming and we are getting in the spirit! Town is getting busier, the days are getting shorter and I still do not have my Christmas tree up, I am hoping we can get up into our attic to get it down this week, cause I really want to put it up! Dixon says its too early, but I still want to!! So to tide me over until we do get our tree up I got myself an Advent Calendar and made on for Dixon! Lego and Beers!

Dixon has even opened the windows, and not all at once like I know some people do with their advent calendars, total self control!

So its been a busy week for parcels coming as well, not just through the door but picking them up and paying customs charges, hopefully everything will make it here on time. One package that I got came from Camille and Caryn, with a post card from Lea! It was full of amazing things, including a Batsign and a National Geographic, I really should get a subscription!

And we also got our couches! Finally! They were supposed to be at the house late Friday evening, but because of the horrible weather on Thursday, winds in excess of 80 mph, the truck was stuck in Glasgow, but they eventually made it and it is awesome to have something to sit on!

So its a lot of this and that, but hopefully soon I will have my Christmas tree up and more adventures to share with you!

House Update

So I was trying to show someone the other day some of the things Daniel had built for the house, and I realized I didn't have any pictures of them, and of course that means that I haven't updated anything on here for the house in quite some time. The house is coming along great, I can't wait until we have sofas, but thats a whole other story but, sitting on the wee chairs we do have isn't all that terrible. It could be much worse.

So in the alcove in the livingroom, he built a this up into it. There used to be a fireplace in the wall next to it and that's where the pipes and stuff ran into, since we didn't have the money to replace the old fireplace and it was deemed unsafe, we decided to wall it up and perhaps at a later date we can get a fireplace again.

An in the bedroom we had a small closet, but considering the amount of clothes and shoes we both have, it would have been relatively useless as a closet. So Dixon built up a vaniety into the space and it works really well, when we had the electricians in, we had them put a light in there so its basically perfect. I am still looking for the right mirror. I saw one in a coffee shop, but they didn't seem like they were going to part with it. Something like this or this. I will have to keep my eyes peeled.

So that is most of the improvements, I have already shown you my camera shelves so other than that I can't think of too much new stuff for the house.

In the parcel Camille and Caryn sent me, Caryn also included this wee guy! Ever since I found the cubedudes online, I wanted to make the Boba Fett one. Now I might have to visit my pal and get some of the lego I gave her family and build Batman

So that about wraps up what I have been up to lately, since it has been so cold lately and it is October and my application is in the post I thought I would treat myself with some Lush. A Pumpkin bubble bar, it doesn't get much better than that.

Busy Busy

So I had another productive Saturday off I managed to put down the videogame I couldn't put down on wednesday and actually paint! Something about when Dixon is away to go skating, I can really be productive. So here are some wee previews.

These paintings are turning out to be a lot of fun! I am really enjoying thinking them up and putting them out there. I do need to get onto the next few soon, because I think I have a lot of painting to do in my future! But so far it has been fun. Its made me draw and paint things I normally wouldn't think to paint.

The newspaper was giving away free lego all this week and because the shop that you had to collect it from is not close to my route to work or home from I haven't got any of it! Buuut Dixon got a lift to the shopping centre and picked it up for me even though he isn't the biggest lego fan let alone Lord of the Rings fan. My own little orc!

And finally last but not least it was my awesome brothers birthday and through the magic of technology I was able to send him a birthday present on time and everything! Though not a card, thats still coming!! Sorry!!
I did get him one of the best movies of our childhood!

New This Week,

So I am not feeling very well over the last couple days so I thought to myself that it is a perfect time to show off my amazing find! Perfectly normal to have a Boar in a Bonnet in a Baby Carriage... perfectly normal....

I also this week in lego and books! I made my lighthouse and yes it lights up and yes the light spins! Perhaps I can ocnvice Dixon to help me make a wee video proving these things! I think he likes it better than he is letting on cause there hasn't been a day since I built it that he hasn't lit it up!
Something I haven't mentioned before but probably will again (unless I forget((which is mostly possibly))) I read a lot! so these are some of the books I have been reading this week.

Hopefully I will feel better soon and there will be more art, Dixon is keeping me supplied in hot water bottles and new cups of tea so I should be feeling better soon!!

Can't Trust No One

So I was so excited my passport was coming in and I found a company that seemed eager and experienced in getting visas. That was before I got a fairly strange email and so i just thought I would check out some reviews of the company and all I could find were these horrible reviews on how they take your money and never speak to you again.  That is something that I can't afford to let happen, so now I have a lot of research to do again to figure out how I am going to get my visaack to the UK. So back to square one it feels like. Strange how something slightly odd in an email tips ya off and makes ya feel so suspicious.

On a much happier note I made more lego! Check out my amazing shelf of lego!

Lego!

So I have been feeling kind of down lately since I found out how much my visa is going to cost and I just do not have then money right now, so I have been feeling rather melancholy is the best word for it. I also haven't been sleeping at all, I have been falling asleep on the couch every day at about 4-6 min the morning. So that isn't helping. I have been cheerful every once in a while, but I really miss Scotland and Dixon. Its hard being away for so long.. So I think Caryn was trying to cheer me up! So we built some of her lego collection!! I was so excited, it has been ages since I have built lego, let alone a proper set, and this was a big set!!!
 Hagrid's hut anyone?
You might be able to tell that i am slightly more excited about the one I built, but there was so much stuff all over this thing it was crazy!

And this was Caryn's that she built last night, the cannon actually fires! So that is almst as exciting as the crocodile.

So that definately helped cheer me up and I am probably going to build some more tonight cause thats how I roll. Plus there is more Harry Potter Lego to be built. I may start on some soon.doing pretty well gonna hopefully paint a painting for my sisters work, and will perhaps get drwing that soon too.
So other than being quite moany I am doing pretty well.
