A Few Wee Drawings

So last week I had a few days off and I was surprisingly productive, I have decided to include photos that have my references in with some of the drawings, and I think it looks pretty good.

My black shading pencil has run out and I have no idea where to get a new one in Edmonton, so that kind of sucks, that is why it is not shaded.

Holy Friday the 13 Batman!

As you know it was Friday the 13th the other day, and Strange City Tattoo in Edmonton did $13 tattoos, on a first come first serve basis. Their plan was to open at noon, and this was the lineup!
Amazingly I ran into my friend Jay and Sarah, and their friend Mike, or I would never have made it through that line. Sarah and Jay got into the line at around 11:45 and I came along around 12:00 so we were only about 20 feet from the door and it still took until 7:00 to get into the shop! I got my first sunburn of the season, my shoulders were so red! It was crazy hot outside.

Mike, me, Sarah, and Jay.

Once we were inside there were stil about ten people in front of us so it was around 8:00 when I got tattoo, I wish I had a photo of all the designs you could have picked frombut I'm afraid I don't. |However the Tattooist took a photo of mine and put it on their facebook, so if you click the link above it will take you to their facebook and you can have a look later.

It was an awesome day, who would have though sitting in a line forever would be such a good time I have to say thank you to Mike, Sarah, and Jay for that!

Plus I did a fun little sketchy yesterday. C:

Can't Trust No One

So I was so excited my passport was coming in and I found a company that seemed eager and experienced in getting visas. That was before I got a fairly strange email and so i just thought I would check out some reviews of the company and all I could find were these horrible reviews on how they take your money and never speak to you again.  That is something that I can't afford to let happen, so now I have a lot of research to do again to figure out how I am going to get my visaack to the UK. So back to square one it feels like. Strange how something slightly odd in an email tips ya off and makes ya feel so suspicious.

On a much happier note I made more lego! Check out my amazing shelf of lego!

Lego!

So I have been feeling kind of down lately since I found out how much my visa is going to cost and I just do not have then money right now, so I have been feeling rather melancholy is the best word for it. I also haven't been sleeping at all, I have been falling asleep on the couch every day at about 4-6 min the morning. So that isn't helping. I have been cheerful every once in a while, but I really miss Scotland and Dixon. Its hard being away for so long.. So I think Caryn was trying to cheer me up! So we built some of her lego collection!! I was so excited, it has been ages since I have built lego, let alone a proper set, and this was a big set!!!
 Hagrid's hut anyone?
You might be able to tell that i am slightly more excited about the one I built, but there was so much stuff all over this thing it was crazy!

And this was Caryn's that she built last night, the cannon actually fires! So that is almst as exciting as the crocodile.

So that definately helped cheer me up and I am probably going to build some more tonight cause thats how I roll. Plus there is more Harry Potter Lego to be built. I may start on some soon.doing pretty well gonna hopefully paint a painting for my sisters work, and will perhaps get drwing that soon too.
So other than being quite moany I am doing pretty well.

So it was Hayley's birthday a couple days go and I unfortunately missed it so I am sending a birthday card now, I knw it is belated as well, but I wanted to paint a picture for her as well. So i got down to business today, and got the painting done! I should start remembering to take a photo of the whole process but here is the finished product.

So yay for productivity!!!

Changes...

So it has been a while, and my reason for not updating was because I figured not much was happening I was reading more than drawing.  I do not really review books so it wasn't too much excitement going on to shout about. But now so much has happened.Starting first off I had to come back to Canada and leave my husband behind so I can apply for a new visa to stay in Scotland.
So right now I am in Canada trying to get back. I have loads of paperwork to sort out, but a lot of it is done already! So that is an exciting thing, I am a few steps into the process of getting back to Scotland!! It is freezzing here as well! It was just starting to be really nice in Scotland jsut before I left and now I am droppeed into twwo feet of snow and minus a billion temperatures!!
I got a new haircut which I really like I was worried about it for a while but I like it now again! Needs to be trimmed again but I am going to wait for a real hairdresser to do it this time cause when I do it I mostly wreck it so we will wait this time haha.
I have done a bit of drawing since being here, just a couple sketches, one of a chameleon skull and one of nikola tesla, they are tuning out ok need more work though but thought I would post a bit.
So ya work is still beeded but getting back into drawing and painting is important right now but I am readinng loads! That helps me when i wasnt to draw as well!
I also went to see Rango! It was unexpectantly funny!! I really wnated to see it cause I like chameleons, but it was even better than I thought it would be, best bit all I can say is holy Fear and Loathing reference!
Hehehe funny stuff keeps me happy while I am here missin my home and Dixon

Snow!!!

So its been snowing for the last couple days and I have been really excited because it is actually sticking to the ground! So that means that a snowman is definately in my near future.  Perhaps a snowball fight if I can convince Dixon to go outside some more but for the time being I just took some pictures of the snow falling.

And there was loads of it!

So Dixon didn't want to help make the snowman, but he did take pictures for me C:

I have no idea why I didn't notice that his head was lopsided but he was lovely anyway, Dixon make his eyes out of potatos for me.
Also if you like penguins you should definately check out.

Its been a while

So its been a wee while, and I haven't really been up to too much just sort of doing nothing, I did finish my painting although that was some time ago. I haven't really been feelin like doin anything lately, might jsut be because winter is starting and its cold and rainy. Maybe I miss snow.  So thats mostly why I ahven't been up to much and I haven't really been taking pictures of anything
I really do fancy heading over to the library though, a good book would be amazing right now, but I might have to get a library card and I jsut have no money right now. So that would spoil everything going all the way up there and not being able to take out a book. My joyful wee walk up to the librar would be ruined by not being able to bring a book home with me. I am gonna look online to see if I can find out if I can in fact get a library card on the cheap or if its out of my reach. Tomorrow will be a more eventful day! Hopefully.
I am also gonna perhaps look at the charity shop I could probabyl get a dead cheap book from there.
Now I can't get my computer to read my memor card from my camera so I can't post a photo of my painting like I wanted to but perhaps next time.

Starting a new painting....

I am starting a new painting, well I started it yesterday but then left to go watch fireworks and drink a weee bit, and when I say a wee bit I mean so much that Dixon spewed a bunch and was covered in mud by the time we got home! The fireworks was a pretty swell time. Not as many people out as last year, but I think we got out there a lot later as well. But in the end it was a good time. Here's some of the firework action, I couldn't get a lot of pictures of fireworks cause I was using my phone again, I still haven't gotten batteries for my camera.

But this is the start of my painting its still covered in pencil, but I did do all of the drawing on it yesterday so I was pretty excited about that and I am really liking it so far although the watch does need a bit more work. I do like everything else especially the chickadee!

Off on a Walk Today

I have been asking Dixon for about a week now to go for a walk but everytime we get out of bed and ready and fed and everything it starts raining buckets down on us and we end up curling up to scary movies and comedy panel shows instead. It was so cold yesterday, that we had to bundle up soooo much just to get to the shops and buy some pasta! It was only two minutes away! And we were soaked! I fortunately wore two pairs of socks so my feet were toasty, but Dixon's didn't fare so well.

But onto today! It finally stayed dry and after two rounds off washing clothes and hanging them out we were off! since we always go down to the shore we decided to go up Clemiston Hill today and its a gorgeous wooded area; (Also my camera decided to die after taking two pictures, but I rememebr that my phone takes pretty good pictures if you aren't zoomed in so here they are)

Check out the quality on them!
Dixon told me ages ago about these bomb shelters from the war that were meant to be for the Queen apparently, if Scotland ever got bombed while she was stayin here! They go miles underground and are covered in grafitti and I forgot completely about them, but apparent;y they are just a short walk away from our house, I thought they were ages away, now we didn't ahve any lanterns or nothin to go into the shelters and since there are holes and all that business to fall into we stayed safely above ground. I did have a good look around though;

 I think it all looked pretty awesome from up there! We decided ( once dixon testd the safeness of the roof) That we would have a wee sammich (or sandwich if you don't speak Courtenay, which apparentely Dixon does not) up there before heading back around and home;

I may or may not have been hungry still and tried to munch his face! He's not really that amused is he.
All in all though it turned out to be a great day! I do still need to work out how to make a nice layout or at least find one temporarily, but I am very picky.
Back to procrastinating about my drawing C:
